Selling ad spaces: Steady source of income

With rapid growth in the internet marketing, many advertisers have started realizing the importance of buying ad spaces on popular websites.These websites help them to bring interested visitors to their website.And when they are successful in attracting such visitors, they will get good returns in terms of product-sell or sign up or anything which the advertiser wants.
The website owner who sells the ad space also gets good return and most importantly, the income is steady.

How to sell the ad spaces?

It is a bit difficult task.It needs hard work from our side.But once we succeed, it can turn out to be the main source of online income.

Contact advertisers:
This is important.There are very less chances that the advertisers ask you to sell ad spaces to them, unless you own a very popular website.
1.Choose advertisers-->Visit different websites which are topic-wise similar to your website.You will find few advertisements (they look different from adsense/bidvertiser ads and are generally banner ads).Make a list of such advertisers.
2.Send an email-->The emails to different advertisers may not be the same.Write about the topic, statistics (unique visitors, page hits per month) and its importance in point of view of advertiser.Write about the deal you are interested in, say $50-100 per month (keep in mind that this is very small amount for advertiser).
Wait for their response(don't keep sending the email everyday).
--If the advertiser accepts the deal, he will contact you asking about the ad size, ad format,ad placement etc.
--The advertiser may directly refuse it sending you a "sorry" message.
--The advertiser will not reply at all.
In last 2 cases, contact the advertiser again after a month.Sometimes consistency works!

If you contact 50 advertisers, you may succeed in selling the ad space to 2-3 advertisers.This will help you in being independent of the different CPC ad networks.
